Sohr started his first business in 1983, during his sophomore year at Auburn University. He was a commissioned sales representative for an engineered thermoplastics company that provided engineered plastics. Scott Sohr owned this business until 2010 when he sold his interests back to the original company.
Scott Sohr assembled a very capable team of customer service reps and engineers. He was able to take a largely hands-off approach to this business for many years, which allowed him the freedom to focus on other areas – specifically healthcare and real estate.
Between 1997 and 1998 Scott Sohr, through various partnerships, acquired and improved numerous properties in the Nashville area. Scott developed several residential and commercial real estate holdings near Green Hills, an affluent suburb of Nashville. Then, in 2005 the opportunity presented itself to purchase the William C. Beeler & Co. group healthcare administration agency. Today, the company operates as Health Cost Solutions. Scott Sohr also led the formation of Correct Care Solutions, a company that manages the healthcare of correctional facilities in 19 states. CCS employs over 5,000 individuals and cares for approximately 64,000 patients.
Scott is currently very active as a land developer in the Middle Tennessee area. Notably, he is involved with the formation of several upscale residential communities in Williamson County, including Courtside at Southern Woods and Arrington Retreat, Winterset Woods and Woodmont.
In addition to the Materials Engineering degree from Auburn, Scott holds a Masters in Business Administration from the Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
Scott currently resides in Nashville with his wife, Lyn, and their four children.
